HTC Tattoo – The Eye Catcher

HTC phones are highly appreciated for their superb design and remarkable features that are embedded in them. The touchscreen devices are slowly becoming the next huge thing to hit the market and as is shown by their increasing demand thereby the flourish in such devices by plenty of handset manufacturers. BlackBerry, iPhone and HTC devices lead the way in such gadgets. Taiwanese handset manufacturer, HTC brings out handsets on a regular basis to suit the needs of the consumers. Plenty of handsets produced by them have been well appreciated by the masses with HTC Touch 3G and HTC Magic leading the way and they’re continuing with their development in terms of technology and design by stepping up the ante through devices such as HTC Tattoo, HTC MAX 4G to name a few.

HTC Tattoo is a 3G smartphone coming in a gorgeous body structure and filled with astoundingly brilliant features. The body has clean and well built curves on the edges for simple holding of the handset and also to have a comfortable time when talking on the phone as it gels well with the facial attributes. Windows Mobile Phones

The ’smart phone war’ seems to be getting more and more competitive, days after Google launched Android- a google powered operating system, Microsoft launched Windows Mobile 7, a new operating system for mobile phones. Microsoft is by now leading the market for computer operating systems, and this go is aimed at establishing a strong foothold in the mobile phone industry. The company is particularly targeting to bank on the rising popularity of smartphones amongst the customers.

Smartphones – the multitasking, devices were once high-quality around 20,000- 35,000. fascinatingly, some of the latest smartphones launched in the market are priced at around 8-10,00, and the prices are expected to go down further. Windows Mobile 7 is designed keeping in mind the needs of these special customers, and is bound to offer additional functionalities, excellent user boundary and advanced functional prospects.

Microsoft services such as Zune media service and Xbox LIVE gaming background are integrated into the windows mobile 7 phones. While the Xbox lures the gaming addicts, the ordinary Zune media services synchronizes the music and video files. The Windows Mobile 7 also features “Live Tiles”,a virtual post-its for the mobile phone. Shortcuts for pet apps or Web sites in the form of large, colorful tiles greet you to the home screen. Live tiles with links to your Facebook profile or friends can also be placed for a one touch access. “Live” here means that they are working in real time background, so if the content of the app or site is updated, the tile will be automatically updated on your screen.

“Hubs” is a new attention introduced in Windows Mobile 7, which by defaulting combines the content of around six themes including broadcast, pictures, games , marketplace, music and office.

Microsoft has locked the Windows mobile 7 User boundary, thereby restricting the hardware platforms to its partners. Microsoft’s hardware partners contain Dell, HTC, Garmin ASUS, LG, Samsung, SE, Toshiba, HP and Qualcomm. But as for flash integration, Microsoft stated that “it has no problem, introducing Flash”, which is an Adobe hallmark attention. This comes as a relief to the users, after the smartphone chief Apple announced that it’s latest products would not support flash integration.

Microsoft tries to strike a balance here by neither making Windows Phone 7 as a closed end attention (Flash support), and nor even a truely open finished attention, which is really excellent as it maintains integrity of the attention and addresses security concerns.

Economic Crisis Catches Up to Enterprise VoIP Equipment Sector in 4q ‘08

In the fourth quarter of 2008 the Taiwanese enterprise VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) industry’s IP phone shipment volume is expected to reach 1.82 million, representing a year-on-year decline of 16.8%. The industry’s enterprise VoIP gateway shipment volume is expected to reach 416,000 ports in the fourth quarter of 2008, growing 30.9% year-on-year.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter of 2008 and the first quarter of 2009, enterprises have begun cutting back on IT spending due to the economic turmoil. Enterprise VoIP demand in Europe, North America, Japan, and Korea is expected to see slackening growth. In comparison, enterprise VoIP demand in the emerging markets of Eastern Europe and Latin America is projected to continue expanding as these markets are expected to see a more rapid economic rebound than other regions. Taiwanese makers have cultivated the enterprise VoIP sector in emerging markets for some time and are expected to benefit from the demand growth in these markets.

Taiwanese IP phone shipments are expected to be affected by the performance of major branded vendors. Due to the overall economic slump, Cisco and Nortel’s orders have been decreasing over the past few quarters. Avaya’s expanded orders and Alcatel-Lucent’s plot to seek cooperation with Taiwanese OEM/ODM makers are expected to make only limited contributions to Taiwanese IP phone shipment.

Starting in 2007, oil price hikes and the US subprime mortgage crisis have caused the comprehensive economy to suffer, leading to extensive pressures on enterprises. It was expected that the enterprise VoIP market would be less affected by the economic turmoil, in light of the cost-saving the makings posed by the attention of VoIP services. Nevertheless, the continuous worsening of the comprehensive economy has caused enterprises to downsize operations and IT spending. As a result, overall enterprise VoIP equipment sales have been on the decline, and the possibility outlook is far from optimistic.

In the third quarter of 2008, Taiwanese IP phone shipment volume reached 1.95 million units, representing a year-on-year decline of 10.2%; enterprise VoIP gateway shipment volume arrived at 447,500 ports, growing 46.6% year-on-year. Overall Taiwanese enterprise VoIP equipment shipment value dropped 9.3% year-on-year to US$95.2 million in the third quarter. IP phone shipment value declined 13.7% in comparison with the same period last year, while enterprise VoIP gateway shipment value grew 38.9%.

Declines in Taiwanese makers’ shipment volume of IP phones can be ascribed to the decrease of orders by major international vendors on the comprehensive economic slump, in view of the fact that Taiwanese IP phone makers mainly engage in OEM/ODM production for these vendors. In the enterprise VoIP gateway segment, Taiwanese makers’ narrow production for the major international vendors was at a relatively low level; at the same time, Taiwanese makers landed orders from US SIs (System Integrators) and third-tier branded vendors, while orders from the emerging markets of Eastern Europe and Latin America continued to grow. Therefore, enterprise VoIP gateway shipment grew steadily in the third quarter.

Report on Taiwanese Enterprise VoIP Equipment Industry 4Q 2008
The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with enterprise VoIP makers. The report finds that Taiwanese IP phone shipment volume declined in the third quarter of 2008 while enterprise VoIP gateway shipment volume grew. The overall Taiwanese enterprise VoIP equipment shipment value decreased as a result. Due to the comprehensive economic turmoil, it is expected that Taiwanese IP phone shipment volume will continue to decline in the next two quarters; at the same time, Taiwanese enterprise VoIP gateway shipment volume, though sliding sequentially, will see year-on-year growth.

Blackberry 8300: Prim and Professional

Blackberry 8300, better known as Blackberry ‘curve’ is the new baby from Blackberry that is catching a lot of attention and is known to be technologically stuck-up doohickey that comes with all the Blackberry features and its classical design. The brand Blackberry has been associated with business class devices and this time around too, it has made its superiority in the business phone market with a plethora of Blackberry loyalists going gaga over it.

Let us try and analyse the features of this device and know about it in detail. Blackberry 8300 is PDA enabled device that though looks quite chunky from outside, is really quite usable and likable. It has a ordinary Blackberry exterior that makes it one of persons high end business devices. With a QWERTY keyboard and an brilliant connectivity, Blackberry 8300 surely looks as a perfect business device. Take for instance its connectivity, Blackberry 8300 is a Quad-Band GSM enabled device that can work crosswise the world, including the parts of America. With connectivity made powerful by the features as GPRS, EDGE and Bluetooth, the features like web browsing and e-mailing could be made possible through this device.

Coming to the camera of this device, there is a high resolution 2 Mega Pixels camera that has been powered in this device. So you can capture all of your memories through this handset. The media player of Blackberry 8300 takes care of the essence of music that comes to the fullest in it. There have been other significant improvements in this device that contain spell-checker for e-mails and memos, plus a new feature that enables the adjustment of call volume as well.

Despite of all the fantastic features that have been promised in this handset, the disappointment has come in the form of absence of Wi-Fi feature, or UTMS(3G) feature that has been widely anticipated in this mobile phone. The camera of Blackberry 8300 is unable to record videos too. But save for these drawbacks, the device is a well equipped handset with a whole lot of features in it!

Save Time And Money With Unified Communications

Companies and organisations that want to save time and money know that managing different communication services such as voice, instant messaging, conferencing and email means unifying all your communications and bridging the divide between them with business Internet services provided by a reputable and professional company.  Before the end of 2010, you will commence to see Unified Communications, or UC, taking over how businesses conduct their communications.

The thought behind Unified Communications is very simple.

Save Money

It’s simple for small businesses to be swamped by the continuous changing trends of the technology sector. Unifying communications keeps you ahead of the loop. What’s more, by using the Internet to communicate, you are saving extensive expenditure on ordinary call charges and line rental.

Also, because Gradwell’s Hosted Unified Comms is such fantastic quality service, you’ll easily be able to save money on roving for face to face meetings when you can simply delight in reliable conferencing anywhere in the world.

Save Time

By streamlining your communication systems and services, you can add productivity and increase customer satisfaction when you roll out unified communications crosswise manifold locations. Save money with free VoIP calls between colleagues using Internet telephony as part of a unified service.  But also save time by having colleagues easily connect with each other, or even check on each other’s status.  For instance, If Philip needs to speak to Richard, he could call, but he’s got someone on hold awaiting the answer.  Philip can see using hosted Unified Comms that Peter is out of the office today, but he knows he can contact him on his mobile, because all calls are being forwarded to it.

Richard is in a meeting and his mobile is turned off.  So Philip knows that when he leaves a voicemail, it will be acknowledged and emailed or SMS messaged to   him.  Richard is using his laptop in the meeting and notices an urgent message from Philip.  Bingo, he can answer without having to halt the meeting to take a call and Philip (and whoever is on hold) gets an answer.

Remember that by combining your communication services, you can save money because they’re low cost and no risk.  You’ll be utterly mobile, contactable the world over using any device.  Integration is simple, you can Call, SMS and IM using Softphone+.  Keep an eye on things with unique services that allow you to monitor who’s doing what. You can also share a centralised phone book, which will make contacting your network much, much simpler.  And it’s all controlled via your PC or Mac, making it just about as simple as it gets to control your entire unified communication systems.

Gradwell - Internet for Business Broadcast.

Hear all of your calls and communications to the one device that you want to get it fromDon’t mess about switching from mobile to landline to laptop, take control of it all and customise to suit your needs.

It doesn’t need a dedicated RIM server, and it can be easily installed on a number of e-mail servers such as Lotus Notes and Microsoft Chat. In addition to this, the new software system employs a number of predefined user policies. These policies provide a straightforward version of the security and IT features provided by BlackBerry’s Enterprise service, so they give small businesses access to a number of vital features, including the ability to limit features on an employee’s handset, as well as being able to lock down lost and stolen BlackBerry handsets.

Michael Woodward, AT&T’s vice head of business voice, data and wireless products, believes that their new software will help small and medium sized businesses to take advantage of the BlackBerry services that were earlier only available to larger companies. He said: “BlackBerry Professional Software will allow our small business customers to more easily afford and implement BlackBerry service so that they have many of the controls and security features and the productivity benefits of staying connected that large business customers delight in.”

BlackBerry Professional Software offers businesses the opportunity to take advantage of any a five or ten user package. These packages are available at a reasonable price, making them far cheaper than the larger Enterprise service. The new software is only available to businesses with fewer than 30 employees. But, if a business on the new programme finds itself outgrowing this limit, their software can be easily upgraded to the much larger Enterprise server.

Analysts believe that the simplicity of this new BlackBerry programme will make it a resounding success. Jack Gold, analyst with J. Gold Associates, said: “Basically, smaller businesses still have wireless e-mail needs, but generally don’t have IT departments to install and maintain complex e-mail systems. This is a excellent way for AT&T to sell more smartphones, while offering their clients a way to enable wireless e-mail.”

Chris Hall, senior director of BlackBerry offers at AT&T, echoed this sentiment. He said: “Small and midsized business need voice and e-mail to do business, and this solution fits the needs of legal firms, to small fiscal companies, to catering companies.”

BlackBerry Professional Services is currently available in the USA, although it is unknown if and when it will be made available to small businesses in the UK.
