I’m editing entirely my previous review. Panasonic provides AA batteries with the phone, I place some other rechargeables into the phone, so I wouldn’t have to wait and I could use the phone immediately.
I was having nothing but distress with handsets not charging properly. Place different batteries in, problems seem to have disappeared.
This phone rings, plays chime tones, belches, and god-knows-what-else. Programming one handset for speed-dial automatically programs the other handset.
Evidently, if you program one handset to play a small melody for a cetain incoming caller, that isn’t automatically programmed into the other handset, so it seems. Sometimes small symbols show up on the screen, who knows what they mean?
This phone does everything, but the manual is a bit tough. Reading the manual isn’t simple. I suspect that’s because the thing has so many features.
I’m rating this phone a 4, maybe it should be privileged, but I’m still kind of holding back to see if things are ok now. Things seem to be fantastic now that I place a different set of rechargeables in the handset.
Here’s a small trick I learned, maybe there’s a more gifted way, but I don’t know it. PROGRAMMING SPEED DIAL:
I try to keep consistency, everlastingly putting broadcast by last name. Let’s say your last name is “Smith”. You probably have relatives with the last name, let’s say Bob, Joe, Al.
The ‘7′ key PQRS. It will only store 4 names IF one starts with a ‘P’, a ‘Q’, the next an ‘R’….
So how to get 3 Smith names in there for speed dial, and for the phone to speak it out?
Go P Bob Smith
Go Q Joe Smith
Go R Al Smith
The phone will announce the name aloud, pronouncing the first(meaningless) letter as if it were an early. No problem.
This method allows you to program manifold broadcast with same last names on the same key.
Don’t know if I clarified well, so if you don’t get it, forget it.
I like the speakerphone built into handset. I can stick phone in my shirt pocket, have 2 hands free as I speak. So much more convenient than earbuds. But I reckon there are much cheaper phones that have that feature.
This is a very-full featured phone.

Just got it so have not figured out all the features but so far works very well.
The show is very simple to read (large numbers) so it would work fantastic for older broadcast.

We bought this phone for ourselves and are so impressed that we are now going to buy another one for an elderly relative. It has several features that make it simple to use: large, well spaced keys; large screen with large fonts; and an audio announcement following rings which reports the phone number that is calling. It is one of the most simple to use electronic items we have in the household – we like it!

I bought these phones for a two tale home. Out of the box they look incredible, and are very comfortable.
I first hooked up the main base on the ground level of the home. Setting up the phone was very simple. The features that really stood out were a phone book with customizable ringers for different callers. I typed in my name and cell phone number to test out the caller ID voice. I was shocked when it came back clear as day with my name. This phone has very deep customization on the level of a modern cell phone.
Next I hooked up the other base upstairs, and was shocked again that the smaller base didn’t need a phone line. It receives signals right from the home base flawlessly. I went downstairs to get my list of phone numbers to input into the second phone. When I came back I was amazed that every number and time and date had uploaded into the second deck on its own. Easily the best home freestyle phone I’ve ever used!
