I took the first phone out of the box, and my wife said, “Why did you buy such an hideous phone?” It does not look hideous with a white background on a website while it is sitting in its cradle, but trust me, this phone is not nice on the eyes. It is very long for a freestyle telephone and it shaped like most current remote controls. While phones in general keep getting smaller, these seem to have been stretched.
I did plug one in and it seemed to work fine, but I am returning the product, gladly paying the return fee to not have to look at these things. It sure would be nice for Amazon to show photos of these phones in a real setting, like next to a touch to reference the size. An example might be a kitchen place-setting, or next to (dwarfing) someone’s head who is using the thing. But you only get to see these on the cradle.
We will be buying all possibility telephones from stores, where we can see, touch, and hold them in advance. That would have been a better choice in this case. Thanks, Amazon!

This is an amended review. I’d give it four stars if I could change my first rating, which was based on slow manner of speaking.
The product itself is fine. Only negative: the “base unit” has a wall hanging option, but it juts out awkwardly; it’s really meant to sit on a horizontal surface.
The phones are competent of fantastic complexity. Programming them could give you months of nerdy enjoyment. But thankfully, it also just works out of the box without going into a lot of hassle. The address book feature looks very useful and simple to implement, borrowing from the cell phone concept of “hear a call–add the phone number to the list.”
Super Saver shipping on this product was below par. I bought this on June 11, and it arrived June 25 (even though Amazon said the product was in stock). Tracking was pathetic: “It exists. It’ll get there… sometime.”
So if you need this soon, better pay for shipping.

Ringer volume is incredibly LOUD on each phone; it cannot be turned down! And, the ringer has an irritating quality to it (it sounds like a child’s toy). We had to return it without exploring its features any further.

The largest problem is you can only list one number per name. We are use to listing the name and add four numbers per name ex.2cell numbers, home, business. The signal quality is not very excellent, I have a hard time understanding the caller.
We were extremely upset when we ordered the phones and were given an option to apply for a Chase Amazon credit card and hear a $30.00 credit on our first bill. When we received the statment we did not have a credit of $30.00. I called to inquire why and they said that we were only approved for an “Amazon Store Card” and we did not get the credit. I question why we were not told and given the choice of cancelling the order and they said that they do not do that. We have brilliant credit and needless to say we were very upset with Amazon. I have requested a return authorization to return the phones. Anyone that would do business this way is not someone that I trust. Amazon did offer us a credit of $30.00 on our next buy but not this one. I am returning the phones for this reason.

After reading the reviews I was satisfied with making the buy. I can’t lie it has its excellent qualities and a slight tiny one. Now I did buy it refurb. and felt that I’d probably get the same quality. I buy alot of refurb products and they do pretty well. The conveinence of this phone is that it has 5 phones and the phones talks to you. When someone call the phone it says who’s calling so you don’t have to get up and answer if you don’t want to. I estimate my tiny one issue is that it makes a buzzing signal. Importance the signal quality is not that excellent but I did buy it refurb, so I don’t now if thats the reason or not but its annoying as HELL.
