AT&T Service
This AT&T phone can handle high-speed data connectivity via AT&T’s 3G mobile broadband data network, which is available in most major metropolitan areas. The AT&T 3G network uses the dual-band UMTS 850/1900 MHz network (also known as WCDMA), making it possible to delight in a variety of feature-rich wireless multimedia services. It also gives AT&T the advantage of offering simultaneous voice and data services.
In areas where the 3G network is not available, you’ll continue to hear service on the AT&T EDGE network, which offers availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. Providing average data speeds between 75-135Kbps, it’s quick enough to support a wide range of advanced data services, including video and music clips, full picture and video messaging, high-speed color Internet access, and email on the go. You’ll also delight in quad-band GSM connectivity, which allows you to make calls in more than 190 countries and access data applications in the more than 135 countries where AT&T offers international data wandering.
With 3G connectivity, you’ll be able to access AT&T’s Video Share service, which enables you to send a live, one-way video stream to another well-matched phone during a ordinary voice call. The service also allows you to switch the direction of the video stream during the same phone call. (Customers must be in an area served by the company’s 3G network and have a Video Share-enabled phone.) A majority of users in the architecture, engineering and construction industries rated the ability to share live video through Video Share highly, according to investigate commissioned by AT&T. Video Share lets you see progress on a job site or review the day’s work without having to handbook from an office or other site to do so.
You can take advantage of the AT&T Route-finder GPS software and service, a full-featured premium navigation attention that includes audible turn-by-turn directions, real-time traffic updates and re-routing options, and 3D moving maps (additional charges applicable). AT&T Route-finder offers several other features to make your commute more enjoyable and reliable, including mobile access to Yellowpages.com. Additionally, AT&T Route-finder is the only mobile phone-based GPS service that provides integrated speech recognition for address entry and points of interest search.
With 3G connectivity, you’ll be able to access AT&T’s Cellular Video (CV) service and the Internet while on the go. Cellular Video features content from CNN, The Weather Channel, iFilm, Comedy Central and exclusive premium content from HBO and much more. And you get access to AT&T Mobile Music, which enables you to buy tracks while on the, access the Napster subscription music service, stream music video, find out what’s playing with Music ID song-recognition software, and find out what’s hot with The Buzz music news portal. Both of the green Matrix phones we bought from AT&T for Christmas gifts broke away from each other within the first two weeks of use. Unfortunately, we got the same tale as most of the other reviewers…AT&T assured us there was no problem with their phones and accused us of abusive use. Not a single AT&T representative (we spoke to at least 12) had heard of any problems with the Matrix design. Apparently AT&T employees don’t read Amazon reviews;) After experiencing the poor customer service from AT&T, my advice would be to try Verizon. If you don’t mind replacing your phone once a week and have no problem doing business with dishonest rude broadcast go ahead and get the Matrix from AT&T but be sure to buy insurance for it.

Terrible in every way. I took it back and had to pay. I would have paid any amount to get rid of it. I could not load music even with cable and drivers installed. No support to help with problem. If you get this phone you will regret it.

I bought this phone in red for my son for Christmas. In less than a month the top part of the phone had broken. I took it back to the shop where I bought it. The customer service rep called central office and had to convince them that it appeared to be defective. Within 1 week of receiving the replacement the screen turned white. Ofcourse they would not replace it again. The phone looks groundbreaking new but cannot be used because of the screen. I feel this phone is very poorly made. My son is back to using the ancient faithful LG flip phone that we have had for 4 yrs.

I really like my phone, yes the ringers and alarms should be louder. I had it for nearly a year just under a couple of weeks thankfully warranty still on the phone. They sent me a refurbirshed one as my first phone the speaker and mike both went out. It was a hassle not having a phone to work for a week. Then I got my refurbished one and the battery kept dying. In view of the fact that the battery was nearly a year ancient I bought a new battery phone still kept dying. Called at&t again and they had to send the 2nd refurbished phone. It worked for nearly 2 weeks and the speaker and mike went out on this phone. Now they want me to go for the 3rd refurbished phone. This is not acceptable. I do not mind getting a refurbished phone but they should make sure everything is working on them before they send them back to you. I have been with out a phone essentially in view of the fact that the end of December. I see where other broadcast have had problems with the slider, I have not had that problem thankfully. This is the 1st phone that I have had that had a qwerty keyboard on it and I loved it. Just wish I could get one that was reliable. It is a hassle to have to be on the phone with the warranty broadcast anywhere 30 mins to an hour as they run you thru the same tests everytime. Not only that you should be able to get a replacement over night or withing 2 days without having to pay for the shipping, isn’t that one of the reasons to have a warranty and customer satisfaction???? Not having a working reliable phone in view of the fact that the end of December is unacceptable, as there are times I need to reach someone when I am out due to some health issues. My husband has had it he wants me to just buy a new phone. That would be fine and have been trying to choose on one, there are way too many choices. Anyone have any suggestions for a excellent reliable phone, that has loud ringers, alarms, qwerty keyboard and camera? Thanks for your comments in advance!
