Choose The Best GPS With GPS Reviews

Bank holidays, Easter, and Christmas everlastingly involve lots of driving. I don’t know why we place ourselves through it? You spend hours in the car, wedged in traffic, turning to the map to dodge the traffic and then getting into an argument with your partner over reading the map when you’ve taken a incorrect turn.

But if you are plotting on spending this much time in your automobile then there are a number of gadgets that can not only help you while away the time as you work your way through another traffic jam, but also get you from a to b. Here are some of our favourites.

Power Extras USB Car Charger And Adapter

With more gadgets in the car, powering them is starting to become an issue. The Power Extras USB Car Charger And Adapter is exactly what it sounds like it is. A dongle that plugs into your cigarette lighter splitting your lighter into two sockets so you can power a mobile phone and your satnav device, for example. But rather than be pleased with just that, the unit also squeezes two USB sockets on the side so you can charge anything that can be charged via USB, like your phone, a digital camera or anything else. If you find yourself constantly looking to swap out your satnav charger the moment it has got enough juice to run of its own accord, this is the doohickey to save you the bother.

Navman S90

The Navman S90 takes on TomTom and Garmin in the high-end satnav market and is the flagship of the S-series from the company. The unique selling point of the S90i is that is comes with a camera allowing to you snap the places you want to navigate back to later. It’s clear that this is Navman making sure they stay with the lead pack rather than steaming out in front, but the unit is simple to read, bracing, and has a clear boundary.

Garmin nuvi 710

Garmin’s latest satnav range offers a larger screen, more functionality and a host of new features. The nuvi 710 is the bottom of the four new 700 series models and therefore doesn’t come with the same functionality as the other models in the range, but studying the spec sheet there isn’t much missing. The Garmin nuvi 710 is a excellent satnav solution that offers plenty to its users. The go to a more converging device will appeal to a lot of drivers and the inclusion of Bluetooth and an FM transmitter will mean two less gadgets cluttering up your dashboard. Overall this is a excellent unit with clear mapping and a user boundary, but for the price you will be able to get all the above cheaper from other makers.

TomTom 520

TomTom has updated its range to stay on in the thin widescreen footsteps of the TomTom One and the TomTom 520 features a 4.3-inch screen. For the extra 100 pounds on top of the TomTom One you get a stack of useful features that you are likely to use on a daily basis. The larger screen, the FM transmitter, the speech recognition address input and the more. It might be pushing up the price of satnavs again and compared to the entry-level stuff available a larger jump. But if you are looking for a unit that does more than just give you the A to B, then this is worth a closer look.

How To Find The Best Home Cinema

There used to be a time when you sat down in front of the television and watched television in mono signal on a screen smaller than the one you are viewing this article on. Today televisions have grown in size and capability and the home cinema and home entertainment system has come of age. Televisions come in all sizes from ones on your mobile phone to 150-inches large.

But what is the best way to set up a home cinema system in your living room and what do you need to make it work? Here is a simple check sheet to make sure you don’t miss anything out.

Television or projector?

The first choice you are going to have to make is whether or not you want to have a projector or a ordinary LCD or Plasma television. The advantage of a projector is that you’ll get a larger picture, but you’ll need to factor in changing the bulbs every couple of thousand hours (not that long considering you probably mind around 20 hours of television a week) and while projector technology has improved drastically over the last couple of years, they still need a honestly dark room and a white wall to be viewed.

LCD or Plasma?

So you’ve chose to go for a television over a projector, now you need to choose whether or not to go for plasma or LCD technology. The main criteria will be size. Under 46-inches you can’t really tell the difference. But your choice will be top secret if you opt for plasma with Lead the way’s Kuro range the one to go for if your plans are to go huge. If you are going LCD then there are a number of manufacturers that offer solutions from Samsung, LG, Philips, Sony, Sharp and Toshiba. Philips has Ambilight for persons looking for a touch a bit different. Ambilight fires light out of the back, and with its Aurea model out the front, that matches the colours on the screen. The thought is that it reduces strain on your eyes.

Amp

Once you’ve got the visuals out of the way you need to look at the signal and you start with an amp. Amps again come in all shapes and sizes with complete kits offered by companies like Samsung and LG, while companies like Denon and Arcam specialise in a system that you add components like a DVD player or games console to. An amp is also excellent for controlling all your different devices within your home entertainment system.

Speakers

You’ve got an amp, but now you need to hear the music. Yamaha and a couple of other manufacturers make a single speaker that sits under your television called a Soundbar. This saves on cluttering up your lounge with speakers, but for audiophiles it won’t beat a 7.1 surround system where there are speakers the world over you look.

DVD/Blu-ray/Content

Once you’ve got a compete system set up you need a touch to play on its. If you are into movies you’ll need to get a excellent up-scalling DVD or if you’re an early adopter a Blu-ray player. Of course you can also get HD movies and TV shows via Sky’s HD service.

Remote controls

Having all this kit will mean a remote control for virtually every device. Rather than clutter up your armchair’s sofa, make sure you look at getting an all in one offering from any Philips or Logitech.

Not long ago,I just bought a TomTom GPS, but I used a Garmin GPS when I rented car last year. I like the Garmin. I reckon I will return my TomTom and get a Garmin GPS. I used my Garmin in my home town. It told me to turn left on a 1 way road that went to the right, it tried to kill me. This is a right: Garmin makes a pretty darn excellent GPS all around! Garmin and TomTom are world leaders in GPS system, and they both offer a tremendous value and quality for what they have to offer. Garmin is the best in the U.S. and TomTom is better in Europe/UK. I live in the U.S. so Garmin better for me!

The Best Camera Mobile Phones This Christmas – the Sony Ericsson C905 and S302

In 2008, one company is set on shaping the universe of camera-equipped mobile phones. This manufacturer is Sony Ericsson, and they are determined to dominate not just the world in top-end camera phones, but bottom-end handsets, as well!

Camera phones evolve – the Sony Ericsson legacy

It’s rather apt, really, that Sony Ericsson are the ones at the forefront of the revolution in camera-equipped mobile phones. I mean, it was they who kicked it all off, long ago, in 2002. Let’s not forget that they were the first manufacturer to unveil a mobile phone with a camera in it, within the British marketplace. That phone was the Sony Ericsson P800, but it didn’t get the mass market penetration Sony Ericsson would’ve liked, as it was an incredibly (for the time) high-end smartphone. But, their most iconic device in description was about to be unveiled, and that one DID get fantastic market penetration. It was the Sony Ericsson T610, and it changed the playing field. There was a device that stood head and shoulders over the other mobile phones it was up against. It was compact, it was sexy, and customers went MENTAL for it. And, let us remember that the Sony Ericsson T610 also had a built-in camera, and that it was really the first handset to hit that mass market, and make them go, ‘Hang on, we really do want cameras in our mobile phones!’

Today, the camera phone world has split, into entry-level handsets, and top-end camera-equipped mobile phones; well, it’s honest to say that Sony Ericsson really terribly want to rule both!

Sony Ericsson S302 – low-cost, cheerful, snappy

Say you want a Sony Ericsson camera phone, but not a mega-massive smartphone. If so, then the Sony Ericsson S302, the first phone in their whole new Snapshot series, is the perfect handset for you. It’s a fantastic small handset, with a compact, slick body, a marvellous screen, and a funky small multimedia browser. In addition to that, in malevolence of this being classed in the ‘budget phone’ category, the Sony Ericsson S302 is equipped with a fantastic small 2 megapixel camera. Ok, it doesn’t come with autofocus, but considering that it’s a budget camera phone, it’s brilliant!

But, that’s a low-end mobile phone… how about if you want a touch that’s got real power? What if you desire one of Sony Ericsson’s Cyber-Shot series…?

Sony Ericsson C905 – the ultimate camera phone?

You just can’t deny power, and one thing is very clear: the Sony Ericsson C905’s got much more sheer power than any other mobile phones you can buy in the UK. How come? Well, this is the first camera phone to be unleashed upon the UK that has an 8 megapixel camera. Yes, you read that right. EIGHT. That’s a ludicrously huge pixel resolution, and it means that the Sony Ericsson C905 will let you take the absolute most jaw-dropping images you’ve ever experienced, from any camera-equipped mobile phone, ever. Oh, and of course, don’t forget that Sony Ericsson have packed it full of Cyber-Shot technology, and that’s going to make the pictures it produces even more sumptuous. Combine that with a top of the range multimedia browser, WiFi, HSDPA and built-in GPS, and you have to come to the end that the Sony Ericsson C905 is, without doubt, the king of the hill!

Expert in mobile phones, having worked in the industry for over 7 years.
