New Wireless Technology ? Wi-fi:

Wireless Technology:

About Wireless Connection:

Wireless network refers to any type of computer network that is wireless, and is commonly associated with a telecommunications network whose interconnections between nodes is implemented without the use of wires, such as a computer network.

Wireless Connectivity Types:

Wireless LAN: Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) is similar to other wireless devices and uses radio instead of wires to transmit data back and into the world between computers on the same network.

• Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi is a commonly used wireless network in computer systems which enable connection to the internet or other machines that have Wi-Fi functionalities. Wi-Fi networks broadcast radio waves that can be picked up by Wi-Fi receivers that are attached to different computers or mobile phones.

• Fixed Wireless Data: Fixed wireless data is a type of wireless data network that can be used to connect two or more buildings together in order to extend or share the network bandwidth without physically wiring the buildings together.

? Wi-Fi Technology:

The purpose of Wi-Fi is to hide complexity by enabling wireless access to applications and data, media and streams. The main aims of Wi-Fi are:

• Enable access to information easily

• Ensure compatibility and coexistence

• Get rid of cabling and wiring

• Get rid of switches, adapters, plugs and connectors.

? Uses of Wi-Fi:

A Wi-Fi enabled device such as a PC, game console, cell phone, MP3 player or PDA can connect to the Internet when within range of a wireless network connected to the Internet. The coverage of one or more interconnected access points called a hotspot can comprise an area as small as a single room with wireless-opaque walls or as large as many square miles covered by overlapping access points. Wi-Fi technology has served to set up mesh networks.

Wi-Fi also allows connectivity in peer-to-peer (wireless ad-hoc network) mode, which enables devices to connect directly with each other. This connectivity mode can prove useful in consumer electronics and gaming applications.

Many consumer devices use Wi-Fi. Amongst others, personal computers can network to each other and connect to the Internet, mobile computers can connect to the Internet from any Wi-Fi hotspot, and digital cameras can transfer images wirelessly.

WiFi Phones:

A WiFi phone is a wireless telephone that looks similar to a mobile phone but places calls via a combination of voice over IP and WiFi rather than via a cellular network. Some WiFi phones use Skype or Vonage for their voice over IP service such as current Belkin and Netgear WiFi phones. Several cellular carriers have made “Dual-mode phones” to compete with WiFi Phones, which can be easily switched between using a WiFi connection when one is available and a traditional cellular network connection when WiFi is not available.

? Advantage Sides:

It’s quick.

Wi-Fi’s latest version is many times quicker than DSL or cable relations, and literally hundreds of times quicker than persons ancient dial-up relations. That’s particularly handy when you’re working on the run, on the road, or from home: If you’ve ever watched seconds tick by while watching Web pages load, you’ll appreciate the the makings productivity gain.

It’s convenient.

As soon as a Wi-Fi-equipped device is within range of a base station, it’s online. With no wires, you can go your laptop computer from place to place — for instance, from your office to a talks room down the hall, without losing your network connection. When roving, you can set up shop anyplace equipped with a Wi-Fi network: another company’s office, a hotel room, or a convention center.

It’s the world over.

Broadcast Wi-Fi access sites — or “hot spots” — are multiplying quicker than rabbits on Viagra. They’re in bookstores, airport lounges, quick-food restaurants (including some McDonald’s and Schlotzky’s Deli outlets), and coffee shops. In addition, local merchants from Cincinnati to Athens, Ga., to Portland, Ore., are footing the bill for larger hot spots, accessible throughout a business district or neighborhood.

? Drawbacks:

Range:

Wi-Fi networks have limited range. A typical Wi-Fi home router using 802.11b or 802.11g with a stock antenna might have a range of 32 m (120 ft) at home and 95 m (300 ft) outdoors. Range also varies with frequency band.

Although you lose the wires, you’re still limited to the base station’s range, typically 75 to 150 feet at home and a few hundred feet outdoors, depending on equipment, radio frequency, and obstructions.

Power drain:

Networks using early versions of Wi-Fi technology tend to quickly gobble power – a disadvantage for battery-dependent laptop users.

Security:

Here’s the downside of providing quick, simple access. Outsiders can sometimes get into your wireless networks as quick and easily as you can. Check with hardware vendors about the latest security precautions and products. The Wi-Fi Alliance currently recommends using Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) technology, which both authenticates users and encrypts data.

Cheating Husbands and Mobile Technology – A Perfect Fit

With the incredible improvements in online and cell phone usability, could your husband be benefiting when it comes to using this technology to continue to stay in touch with the other woman?

If your husband is taking part in an unlawful affair, having the power to instantaneously communicate with his partner is certainly the ultimate in convenience. But, it is not absolutely essential. Your husband’s infidelity would continue even without the latest high tech gadgets.  If he’s determined to carry on with someone else, it’ll transpire no matter what.

Infidelity is as ancient as mankind, and there is small that has ever kept a persistent pair from getting together. No doubt, it took a lot more willpower to carry on an affair back in the day, but.

With technology being what it is today, the cheating duo can maintain touch with small difficulty. There are a number of methods to keep in close contact and maintain that intimacy.

Regrettably, with these new devices, your husband’s infidelity is likely going to advance at a much quicker rate than in previous years – This is all down to the increased frequency of communication. For most cheating husbands, bonds are being developed speedily, and in a lot of situations, right under their partner’s noses.

Does his phone keep ringing after hours? What about persons mysterious text alerts? Is he taking these calls in another room or outside? Is it possible that they are legitimate and somehow office correlated as he claims? How many incorrect numbers is considered suspicious?

One of the most tempting things about this new technology is the fact that cheaters can easily call, text, or beep their counterpart whenever they want. Cheating partners can now feel much closer to the new person in their lives.

What are the odds that your husband is utilizing his mobile phone to communicate with his mistress? And has cell phone technology really given the advantage to your unfaithful partner?

Well, yes, but that luxury also comes at a cost. While it’s a fact that these high tech phones make it simpler to communicate, your partner is also leaving a trail of damning prove – an electronic record of everything he’s doing.

If you are the partner of a cheating husband, you shouldn’t honestly have to fret about there being enough hard prove on hand. Your husband’s cell phone and computer records are just bursting with info that you will be able to build your case with.

Given the fact that you are able to view  this incriminating digital proof with relative ease, you have to question: Who has been phoning your husband, and how long will you allow it to continue?

The History of GPS Technology

With GPS devices now in millions of cars, cell phones and purses around the country, it is hard to imagine that only a decade ago, the technology was used nearly exclusively by large corporations and the military. But time has went quick for Comprehensive Positioning Systems, which makes sense given that the tale of GPS’ description starts with a measure of time.

It all starts with TIME

GPS technology exists today because scientists sought a way to measure time more accurately than it had ever been measured before. And so, they developed the Atomic Clock, a super-accurate device that measure the time within a billionth of a second.

But the Atomic Clock was not made in order to keep scientists from being late for feast. They used the accuracy of the clock to test Einstein’s scheme of relativity as it pertained to time and space.

Using Atomic Clocks to measure time and space

With these atomic clocks, scientists and engineers learned that there were slight discrepancies in time around the globe. They started to position the clocks the world over from Mount Everest to the Gobi Desert and then looked for tiny differences in the time in each of the locations. This information helped confirm Einstein’s view of the universe and would soon become a key part of satellite technology.

Sputnik and the creation of a military GPS system

When the Russians launched Sputnik in the 1950’s, scientists quickly learned that the satellite could be used to track locations on the ground by beaming a signal up to the satellite – and having a response returned to Earth. How that message traveled determined the location of the satellite relative to a point on the earth.

The US Navy soon started launching satellites of their own, and used them in key military actions to help troops engage in the proper battle locations and help large ships circumnavigating the globe.

After a time, Navy engineers realized that enough satellites, placed in very specific positions with an orbit around the earth, would start a clear picture of our earth – and that this “picture” could be used map out individual points around the globe with stunning accuracy.

Completion of the System

In 1993, it all came together. The United States Navy launched the 24th of 24 carefully placed satellites into orbit – and the Comprehensive Positioning System was born. The satellites are positioned in such a way that now anyone with an inexpensive GPS device can locate their position (or another location) anywhere on the earth. And to reckon, it all started with Einstein and a group of scientists who wanted to find the ultimate measure of time.

Today GPS devices are a useful tool for many Americans. The technology has become very affordable and helps individuals obtain proper directions to their location while using a minimal amount of gas or time. And if someone had told you twenty years ago that GPS technology would be a “hot Christmas gift”, chances are you wouldn’t have given them the time of day.

FOTA (technology)

I want to introduct a touch about Mobile phone Flashing Antenna. Sell Mobile phone Flashing Antenna Features: 1) Material of scab: plastic, metal, cuprum 2) End mode of design: laster, silk-screen, color printing 3) Inside count contain LED: 1 – 18 4) Color of LED: white, red, yellow, blue, green, middle green, salmon pink Inner packing: 1pcs/polybag Outer packing: Carton our products including Mobile phone flashing antennas, CDMA antennas, replacement antennas, flashing straps, retractable antennas and antenna caps, diamond straps, Mobile Straps, antenna rings, mobile phone Housings / Faceplates and mobile phone case.
FOTA is an acronym for Firmware Over-the-Air. It is used for upgrades to mobile phones and PDAs. Normally you have to go to a specific service center (every mobile brand has their own) to get a firmware upgrade. Or some phone models can be upgraded by connecting your phone via a cable to your PC. But both methods are considered inconvenient by consumers and also depend heavily on consumers to seek out the upgrade, and therefore the majority of mobile phone manufacturers and operators have now adopted FOTA technology for their handsets. If the mobile phone has FOTA capability, you can instead download the firmware upgrade directly from your mobile phone service provider. It also allows manufacturers and operators to “push out” firmware upgrades to ensure that mobile consumers have the latest software improvements, which helps reduce customer support expenditure and increase consumer satisfaction. The process typically takes between 3 and 10 minutes, depending on the size of the upgrade file and the speed of your wireless connection.
Open Mobile Alliance has released specification on Firmware Update Management which standardize the method for FOTA.
Most major mobile phone manufacturers provide information about software updating on their websites, typically in their customer support section. They usually list which handset models support over-the-air software updating (via FOTA) or which ones still require use of a cable-PC connection.
You can check to see if your mobile phone supports FOTA by searching through your phone’s menu. The feature goes by several names including Software Update, Firmware Update or Device Management.
ARCchart, a UK-based analyst firm, estimates that globally, at least 230 handset models have been released between 2003 and October 2006 that contain FOTA support. By 2008, the firm forecasts that 50% of all handsets shipping will be FOTA-enabled. Of that figure, most mid-range and high-end handsets shipping will be FOTA-competent, in addition to a few low-end devices.
Current phone manufacturers that produce FOTA competent phones contain LG, NEC, Nokia, Motorola, Sanyo, Sharp, Sony Ericsson, Toshiba, and others.
In its report, ARCchart reports that a number of vendors offer firmware update competent server and client technology. These can be categorized into three tiers:
FOTA update technology suppliers: HP, InnoPath, Insignia (bought by Smith Micro) and Red Bend. All of these vendors provide client-server FOTA manner of speaking and update technology, with the exception of Red Bend Software which focuses on client-side software.
Firmware manner of speaking server vendors: HP, InnoPath and Mformation which offer FOTA manner of speaking (and in some cases firmware lifecycle management) as part of a much broader MDM attention suite.
MDM server vendors and integrators: Gemalto, HP and WDS Comprehensive who integrate or repackage firmware management server products from other vendors.
The major competitors in the FOTA client market are:
Mformation Technologies
Bitfone (bought by HP in 2007 and is now HP Mobility Solutions)
InnoPath
Red Bend Software
Approaches
There are three fundamentally different technological approaches to generating delta files and applying these files to the firmware persona: patching, padding, and computation.
Patching
Patching involves inserting a jump instruction in the beginning of the block to be replaced, which points to the replacement block. The replacement block is appended to the persona in a free expansion area. The drawback is that the updated persona is not bit-for-bit identical to the first target version and requires excessive amounts of memory in real-world firmware deployments.
Padding
Padding involves count excess memory or ads around firmware blocks that may be replaced. The challenge here is that it requires additional 10-20% of memory and introduces plotting overheads in the manufacturer development process. In addition, memory blocks which are not padded cannot often be updated, which makes the approach impractical for non-sequential updates.
Computation
Computation processes the output from the software compiler and linker to generate optimized update instructions. This approach does not interfere with the development process, yet produces a bit-for-bit exact images. The computational approach allows for predictable firmware update sizes, supports non-consecutive version upgrades and unlimited updates per device.

Breakthroughs in the Realm of Technology

The Three Most vital Breakthroughs in the realm of technology:

Learning to unlock Cell Phones

The cell phone uses a particular technique to unlock cell phones. You need the phone number of the phone that is used, the IMEI number, the model number and the network which has certified the phone’ locking system.

The system to unlock cell phones follows a few simple rules. You may use the simple device by the cell phone company or see help from the operator to unlock. You may also send your phone directly to the company for unlocking it, but remember to reimburse the service charges. The best way to avert the hassles is to send the IMEI number to the company in chat for IMEI code, to unlock.

What is Garmin GPS?

GPS or the Comprehensive Positioning system is used to track the location of a person on Earth. The GPS uses the integrated system of receivers and satellites so as to find the precise positioning. It is very accurate in view of the fact that it uses the parallel system of the multi-channel.

Thanks to Garmin, in view of the fact that it uses about 12 parallel channels for receiving the signal even through the very dense forest or through the skyscrapers that you might reckon obstruct the signal flow. One thumbs up for Garmin GPS receiver is that it operates precisely within 15 meters, which is on the average. Nevertheless, with technology unleashing surprises at every turn of the road, the Garmin GPS receiver is now configured with the WAAS system, that is Wide Area Augmentation System to operate within 3 or 4 meters.

The Fun of MP3 Player

MP3 player is the small device that can be carried in pockets. It uses the precise technology of MP3 format so that you can transfer the MP3 files to the format. You can do the copy from innumerable sources like CDs, radio, websites and personalize the list you want to. The CD players, the mini or hard handbook players and Flash memory players are the types of MP3 players, which are useful.

Biometric Technology, are They New Toys for Children?

As a mother, I can truly know how parents crosswise the world feel about their children. The parent-child relationship is a universal one. It crosses languages, barriers, and borders and speaks the same language of like and protection. All parents have the same goal – to protect their children from the problems of the world. Obviously, most parents would like their children to grow to be model citizens and they would never want their children to be associated with anything criminal. Honest enough… but (and of course there is a but to everything, isn’t there?) there are two sides to everything. The knife that we use to cut fruits and vegetables could also be used to kill! Does this mean that we should stop using it?

I believe it all depends on how broadcast look at things. We can choose to be positive and to look at all the positive aspects of life, or we can choose to be pessimistic and to be threatened by every glide that passes by. (Flies can carry germs!)

Recently, I have been reading countless fiscal statement of parents who are paranoid about fingerprinting their children, and so far I haven’t been able to know what the real issue at hand is. We have made numerous technological advancements to make our lives simpler. We believe that now, in the 21st century, we are more elegant than man has ever been. So why are we not able to acknowledge particular changes which come due to new technology? Is it because we are inherently pessimistic and cynical? I’m sure that when Marie Curie learned Nuclear Physics her intentions were plainly not to start nuclear bombs. Humanity has benefited greatly from the development of nuclear science. Still, every time we hear the word nuclear we reckon of bombs and wars. It is the pessimistic nature of modern man that guides our thought process in this way.

It is right that fingerprinting has been used in the past for identifying criminals. But, the technology has evolved just as most technologies tend to do. It is rare to see someone today with a car phone or with a computer the size of an entire room. These technologies have evolved, and certainly for the better. Today, fingerprinting is generally used as a device to accurately identify broadcast. In fact, there are a number of other biometric technologies available. Such technologies contain signature readers, retina scanners and DNA samples. These have all been used to identify criminals at some point or another. But DNA is also used for many scientific tests and the study of DNA has advanced so greatly that medical science could not possibly reckon of doing away with it. If you were being treated for a sickness and your DNA needed to be analyzed for a possible genetic disorder, would you choose to die instead because DNA sampling is used to identify criminals? Of course this is an extreme example, but I doubt that anyone answered “Yes, of course!”

We show our children TV shows like Star Trek, The Jetsons, etc. All children have seen doors slide open and computers accessed by using fingerprinting technology “in the possibility”. Why can’t we realize that “the possibility” could be now, if we would only allow it to happen?

Parents are concerned that their child’s fingerprint will be stored in some kind of database. To be trustworthy, I was also concerned about this at first. But, I felt that I should gather extensive knowledge about the technology before I shot it down without a second thought. I have done online investigate and contacted reputable firms that offer biometric technology like M2SYS, Motorola, NEC (citations to these websites are given below) etc.

M2SYS they are an American reputable leading company in fingerprint biometric technology and most of their clients are confidential firms, school, gyms, banks, clinics, etc. Motorola and NEC are huge multibillionaire companies that produce high-fi biometric technologies for huge regime agencies all around the world.

These companies confirmed what really happens when an individual is fingerprinted. It basically breaks down into an early enrollment process and an identification process. During early enrollment, an individual scans his fingerprint for the first time. The biometric software recognizes particular unique, key points of this individual’s fingerprint. These points are then converted into a series of numbers, or a double thread. Then, each time the individual scans their fingerprint for identification, an algorithm is used to determine if the double numbers contest up with the fingerprint. If they do, then voila! The software provides instant and secure identification.

If you are still scratching your head at this point, you are not alone – I was too. Most of us will never know the entire science involved in biometric identification. But what is simple to know is this: every software company uses a different algorithm. There is not some magic, all-encompassing fingerprint algorithm that every company uses within their software to identify broadcast. This means that if you had two children attending schools in different districts that were both using fingerprint identification by different biometric companies, and you accidentally sent them to the incorrect schools (Mondays…) there is no way that any child could be identified. Their prints are not stored in some ordinary database. All that is ever stored is a double number associated with points of their prints that can only be accessed by the company that has provided the biometric software. These companies are not even associated with the regime. They are mostly confidential technology companies just looking to sell their software solutions.

Biometric technology can be beneficial to our children by improving the security at schools and increasing the overall safety of our children, all with double numbers which are useless to anyone but the confidential biometric company. I would recommend every parent to do some investigate into the realities of biometric identification and to unveil the myth behind the infamous fingerprinting technology.

Of course if we want to reckon negatively, nothing is one hundred percent foolproof. Computers make our lives simpler but they can be hacked too. But, if the biometric software is hacked, the thief would be disappointed that all he would hear were the useless strings of numbers. As one company place it, it would be simpler to steal fingerprint data from a touch a child had touched than to design an intricate reverse algorithm; all to retrieve a useless series of points of a fingerprint.

Life is full of possibilities if we reckon positively and are open to new technology. I, for one, am more interested in my child safely growing up in a world full of incredible technological advances that my generation could never have even dreamed. I believe that this world is possible if we don’t impede its progress by bashing advancements that we know nothing about. In the end, we may all have different opinions, but I am asking that we all gather knowledge about each new technology before we ruin a fantastic possibility for our children.
